Marco Silva believes that big clubs will inevitably want to sign Richarlison because he’s always getting better but it ‘s going to be hard for anyone to sign the Everton forward.
In 2017, Silva took Richarlison to the UK with Watford before bringing him a year later to Everton and overseeing the 23-year-old growth into an established player in the Premier League.
The forward was the target of an £85 m offer from Barcelona in January-reported exclusively by Sky Sports News-which was refused, but Silva maintains that the player ‘s mentality meaning he wouldn’t have turned his head by that publicity.
“I don’t know whether it was accurate or not. You know how rumors are inside football. The names of the clubs start to come for the best players as well as the market is coming. All I know is that in that time Richarlison was completely concentrated on Everton, and I’m sure it’s the same now,” Silva said in an exclusive Sky Sports News interview.
In his one season under Silva at Watford, Richarlison scored just five Premier League goals but the 42-year-old saw enough to convince the Everton hierarchy to spend £ 50 m on Brazil international. Since then, he has scored 26 in 69 games in all the Toffees competitions and remained key under new manager Carlo Ancelotti as they are preparing to resume the season later this month, currently sitting 12th on the table.
The 2019/20 Premier League season will restart on Wednesday, June 17, and Sky, the UK’s leading football broadcaster will make 25 free-to-air games available to everyone in the UK-including Everton vs. Liverpool on the first full weekend back-to enjoy.
