After a thrilling victory over Sevilla on Wednesday evening, Barcelona advanced to the Copa del Rey final.
After defeating Barcelona 2-0 in the first leg of their semi-final, Sevilla were the clear favorites to advance to the final.
Barca, on the other hand, would stage a stunning comeback at Camp Nou.
Ousmane Dembele’s brilliant goal in the 12th minute cut the deficit in half.
Sevilla appeared to have a fighting chance, but they crumbled in stoppage time.
Fernando was sent off in the 92nd minute, and Gerard Pique equalized with what was effectively the final kick of normal time minutes later.
Barca advanced to the final after Martin Braithwaite scored the only goal of extra time.
According to reports, Lionel Messi got into an altercation with Sevilla’s director of football, Monchi, in the tunnel after the game.
After Barcelona was denied a penalty in the first leg, Monchi called Ronald Koeman a “crybaby.” Also, he requested that Messi be granted a second yellow card in the game.
In the tunnel, Messi made sure to get his own back.
“Monchi, it’s you! The shell of your mother!” According to Cope, Messi said numerous times.
“Monchi, it’s you! You don’t say anything now, do you?” He went on to say.
Messi was also embroiled in a verbal spat with an unidentified Sevilla teammate.
“You still win in the same way,” a member of the Sevilla camp told Messi, according to Marca, referring to referees’ favorable decisions.
