Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo revealed that Harry Kane will be available for their season opener against Manchester City. Kane has returned to London where he is quarantining at the club’s hotel until Thursday. The boss is said to have had talks with the England captain after he wanted to leave the club this summer. He denied reports that he missed training, reiterating that his return was panned.
“All the players in the squad that works on a daily basis will be options for us, then it’s up to us to decide.” Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo said mentioning Harry Kane, “First of all we have to speak. This is going to happen today, and after that, we hope to solve all the situations. It’s not about that (Kane’s late return), it’s about what we have to do to solve the situation – this is important.”
“We have to solve it together, everybody involved has to solve it together – speaking, having a nice conversation and putting our opinions, but everybody together,” he added.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted interest in the superstar. This interest only adds to the opening tie. He maintained that Kane is a Spurs player and it was up to them to negotiate.
“He (Kane) is a player for Tottenham Hotspur and if Tottenham doesn’t want to negotiate, it is finished,” said Guardiola.”I think Man City and many clubs in the world want to try to sign him, we are not an exception, but it depends on Tottenham. It is different from Jack. He had the release [clause] and Jack is different. Harry is exceptional and we are interested in him but if Tottenham doesn’t want to negotiate, nothing more to say.”
