Sheffield United and Wolves are both in the running to claim that coveted spot, with the former being able to leapfrog Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘s side this weekend and the latter being able to draw points with them. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reiterated his belief that Paul Pogba is one of the best players in the world and insists that in the coming weeks he will get his chance back to Manchester United.

Following the coronavirus shutdown against Tottenham on Friday, Pogba was named only among the substitutes in United’s first match back.

Since Boxing Day, France International has not featured for the Red Devils due to recurring foot and ankle injuries that limited him to just eight appearances during the season. But the unforeseen break due to the coronavirus pandemic has given the midfielder extra time to recover entirely, and he is now able to play a full part in the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old has struggled for consistency in a red shirt when he’s done it on the pitch, with speculation over a potential transfer never far away.

The increasingly fractious relationship between the club ‘s management and its lawyer Mino Raiola, who openly criticized Solskjaer earlier this season, complicated his situation even further.

Real Madrid and former Juventus club were constantly linked to a midfielder move, and his omission on Friday did nothing to calm those who thought Pogba ‘s future lay away from Old Trafford.

But Solskjaer was eager to play down these assertions and maintains that Pogba will get his chance soon.

“Paul Pogba is one of the world’s best players and he’s been training hard, well, but I need to make sure I ‘m looking after, everybody. We have the Europa League, the FA Cup, and Paul will be playing more and more of a vital part gradually,” the Norwegian told Sky Sports.

Solskjaer also praised striker Marcus Rashford, who this week made news off football after his UK government lobbying led to a U-turn as a food voucher scheme for vulnerable school children was extended beyond term.
