It is over between Atalanta and Papua Gomez, writes Marca. Yesterday, after the suspected new confrontation with coach Giano Pierre Gasperini, the club captain angrily left Atalanta’s training session.
At half-time of the match against Midtjylland in the Champions League, he clashed with the coach and it seems like there is no going back to the former.
In January, the Argentine striker, and one of the best Serie A players, wants to leave the club. Inter and Milan are waiting in the front row for the 32-year-old and they will get him – for free.
Now on social media, Gomez has written a letter to Atalanta supporters.
Gomez wrote on Instagram, “Beloved AtalantTifosiosi’, I’m writing to you on here because I have no way of defending myself and talking to you. I only want to tell you that when I leave, the full truth will be known. You know me and you know the person I am. I love you lots, your captain.”
Papu Gomez is asking the club to end his contract so he can negotiate without hindrance with his new employer. His new Atalanta contract runs until the end of June 2022 and he doesn’t want to sit too long.
