PSG has clinched the last domestic quadruple in French football history, after beating Lyon on penalties to claim the last cup of the Coupe de la Ligue.

After a goalless stalemate in both regular and extra time, which saw Lyon’s Bertrand Traore miss after 10 perfect penalties, the final had to be decided by a shootout, leaving Pablo Sarabia to seal a shootout victory.

After a lack of public interest, the Coupe de la Ligue, which was first adopted in 1994, will now be discontinued, ensuring a quadruple domestic victory in French football will no longer be necessary.

PSG have won the Super Cup, French Cup and Ligue 1 title of this season already.
