According to agent Bruno Satin, Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is targeting Manchester City talisman Sergio Aguero in a sensational move this summer.
The iconic 32-year-old Etihad contract is due to expire in just six months and an extension agreement has not yet been reached. And now Satin, who represented Olivier Dacourt and Michael Landreau, has announced that Pochettino is prioritizing Aguero’s move and making him his first big Parc des Princes signing.
Aguero is now free to negotiate a pre-contract deal with foreign clubs before joining them at the end of the season, with his future still unclear.
Satin made an appearance on Thursday on the Late Football Club show on Canal+ and underlined the intentions of Pochettino.
The former Tottenham coach took up his first role since being fired from the Premier League outfit last week, replacing Thomas Tuchel after PSG’s mixed start to the season. However, to lure Aguero – the record goalscorer of the region – to Paris, his sights were quickly set back on England. The hefty pay package of Aguero is not likely to pose a problem in boosting the sky-high aspirations of Pochettino. His earnings of £ 240,000 a week will at least be matched by PSG, which also boasts eye-watering statistics for star forwards Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. But after dealing with several injuries, the veteran frontman has made only five appearances this term.
This summer, City is expected to sign a new striker and will offload Aguero to concentrate its attention on a long-term replacement.
Last October, Pep Guardiola maintained that Aguero would win a new contract with his club, but the ace’s ability was also left in doubt.
