Coach Quique Setien in Barcelona insists that he would not condemn Ansu Fati after a red card was issued in the 1-0 victory over Espanyol on his side.

Setien said of Fati: “In the end, he was very modest. He came to see me and he felt ashamed about what had happened. He is not being insulted. He went in for the ball to score. The challenge appeared to be tougher than before I saw it, personally. It’s one moment that should have stopped. As he goes to win the ball I see he was trying to fold his leg back so there wouldn’t be any contact but the option was made. He’ll be affected by this so we’ll know what the penalty is and I’m not punishing him for the moment.”
