Ralph Hasenhuttl claims the brief break between Premier League seasons will be uplifting news for his in-structure Southampton side.
Saints have lost just a single time in eight games since the season continued and will complete eleventh in the table by bettering Everton’s performance on the final day of the campaign.
“I should say that it was an exceptionally long season,” Hasenhuttl said ahead of Sunday’s game against Sheffield United at St Mary’s (via Evening Express).
“It was a significant intriguing season with some strange minutes and unbelievable turnarounds. It resembled a rollercoaster yet a brief break isn’t so bad for us. We will take time off to recoup and then the short pre-season is something that should suit us because we are a fit team and we needn’t bother with long to be prepared for the battles.”
“We appeared after lockdown that we can be brisk at an exceptionally elevated level. In the event that we keep this level and expand on it, at that point we should have a superior start than last season. It was where we learned a ton about us, our responsibility and we made the correct choices to turn it around.”
