Real Madrid reported that in the 4-1 La Liga loss on Sunday, midfielder Federico Valverde suffered a broken leg at the hands of Valencia.

Valverde played 76 minutes of the game before being replaced by Toni Kroos with just under 15 minutes left. He has also been diagnosed with a fracture of the shinbone of his right leg.

Real medical staff will continue to assess the 22-year-old Uruguayan and the club has not provided a timeline for his rehabilitation, although early predictions indicate that such an injury could hold him sidelined for around a month.
