Fernando Santos gave little away for their Nations League clash with France about Portugal’s attack. As the European champions thrashed Andorra 7-0 on Wednesday in a friendly, Cristiano Ronaldo, Diogo Jota, and Joao Felix came off the bench.
Ronaldo and Joao Felix got on the scoresheet, while as he started, Paulinho marked his global debut with a brace.
The reigning champions of the Nations League, Portugal, will host France in Lisbon on Saturday, with the teams both scoring 10 points in League A Group 3 with two matches left to play.
Asked about Ronaldo, Jota, Joao Felix, and Paulin in front of France, however, Santos said one would miss out.
Just three of the four play” said the head coach of Portugal.”
“But I am not going to announce which ones.”
Also on the scoresheet against Andorra were Pedro Neto and Renato Sanches, to go with an Emili Garcia’s own goal, as Portugal dominated. As they extended their unbeaten run to eight games, Santos was pleased with his side’s results.
“It was an interesting game and it was what we were expecting,” he said.
Andorra is a very defensive team. To circulate the ball and to find rooms, it was important to have a lot of patience. In that regard, the team did well.
“It was a game that was good.”
