Cristiano Ronaldo told Nani that at some point in his career, he will probably end up in America, claims the Orlando City winger.

The pair were a club and international team-mates, having shared the flanks for both Manchester United and Portugal.

Ronaldo was tipped to follow in the footsteps of the likes of David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thierry Henry and David Villa in winding down his MLS career and could well reach that day, now 35.

“He told me a few years ago he was going to end up in America. It’s not 100%, but it’s probably, there’s a chance,” Nani told ESPN.

Inter Miami, David Beckham ‘s project club ready to make its debut in the new MLS season, has been the side most frequently linked with a move in recent months.

After completing his first year in Orlando, Nani was looking forward to his division season two.

The former Sporting C.P has 12 goals and five assists in 30 appearances. The man seems to love his time on the stateside – though in the Eastern Conference his side finished second-bottom.

“It’s a very fantastic league,” he said.

It is believed that Ronaldo ‘s current Juventus contract will run until the summer of 2022, and it seems unlikely that the club would be willing to contemplate losing him before then. However, by the end of the 2021-22 season, Ronaldo will be 37 years old – and perhaps considering a new challenge.

However, he has indicated in the past that he intends to finish at the top. He said in 2015: “I want to finish at the top level in my mind so I want to finish in a good club with dignity.
