Ronaldo Throws Juve Shirt |What Actually Happened
Before walking down the tunnel to the locker room, Portugal’s star threw away his jersey, which was picked up by a ball boy.
The perpetrator was said to be venting his anger, but it has since been revealed that he was giving his shirt away as a present to the ball boy.
Just a few weeks earlier, Ronaldo made headlines when he dropped his captain’s armband to the ground and stormed down the tunnel after a goal was disallowed during Portugal’s World Cup qualifying draw with Serbia.
Pirlo’s Explanation Of Ronaldo’s Action
When asked about the attacker’s obvious anger, Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo defended him.
“Understandably, he wanted to score a goal, particularly given how the game had unfolded. It’s part of the mindset of champions who want to leave their mark,” he told Sky Sports.
Ronaldo’s Performance Against Genoa
Despite failing to score, Ronaldo put in a good performance for Juventus. He assisted Morata’s goal 22 minutes into the game when an effort hit the post and bounced into the striker’s direction for a fast finish.
Ronaldo had six shots on goal in all, more than any other player on the field.
