Raheem Sterling says that Scotland is just ‘another game’ at Euro 2020. There is much anticipation building up to the Group D encounter. England has three points on the board after a 1-0 win over Croatia at Wembley. Scotland on the other hand has no points on the board after a 2-0 loss to the Czech Republic. With ramifications for the group stage, it is the oldest international rivalry in football. Sterling scored the winner for England is focused on the group.
“For me, it is going to be another game,” Raheem Sterling said before facing Scotland. “Of course, there is history but at the same time, in football you can’t get too drawn into the history, you have got to be focused on the task ahead and the task ahead is to get three points.”
“We can’t be going in there fighting old battles, we’ve got to be really concentrated. We know it’s going to be a difficult one but we can’t get drawn into what the outside world is making of it.” he added.
Harry Kane was kept quiet against Croatia and will look to open his account against Scotland. Two years ago, Kane picked up the consecutive man of the match awards. He scored five goals in those two games. He ended up winning the Golden Boot as England finished fourth. Three years on England celebrated their first win in an opening game of a European Championships in their history.
