According to Sport Bild, Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara wants to join Liverpool despite the failure to sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena.
The Bundesliga giants thought last month that Spain International would put pen to paper on a new contract, but he has changed his mind, and they think he wants to leave, with Liverpool being his preferred option after talks with his teammates.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp needs to bring some quality additions to his squad ahead of next season’s title defense, and Thiago will certainly be a perfect signature for Liverpool.
The Anfield outfit has been linked to Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves with Naby Keita struggling for consistency but, they’ll have to part with £50 m to get a chance to land the Portuguese.
Thiago won’t cost as much from the look of things as that, and he brings more to the table as he’s an all-rounder midfielder. The former Barcelona star in his German top-flight position is arguably the best, and landing such a player will undoubtedly improve Liverpool’s midfield.
The 29-year-old brings a lot of talent to the table, and that will be good for Liverpool.
