Takefusa Kubo made his Getafe debut on Monday and helped his new club come from behind to beat Elche 3-1 in the Spanish league.
After coming off the bench in his first match since joining Getafe on a Real Madrid loan, Kubo set up a goal. Carles Alena also made his debut for Getafe on a Barcelona loan.
In the fourth minute, Elche took the lead through Raul Guti, but the visitors rallied with goals in the 39th by Marc Cucurella, in the 69th by Jaime Mata, and in the 86th by Angel Luis Rodriguez.
After midfielder Ivan Marcone was sent off in the 52nd for a foul on Alena, Elche played with 10 players.
The 19-year-old Kubo, who set the goal for Mata five minutes after entering the match, began the season playing with Villarreal, but under coach Unai Emery, he did not get many minutes. After being signed by Real Madrid in 2019, he played on a loan with Majorca.
Alena, who joined from Barcelona this month, made his debut in the starting lineup.
It was only the second victory for Getafe in 12 league matches, rising to 13th place.
Winless in 11 league matches, Elche remained in 18th place, just inside the relegation zone.
