After confirmation of the move to Chelsea for the reported Liverpool target, Jurgen Klopp was not inclined to discuss Timo Werner. RB Leipzig star Werner caught the attention of several European heavyweight clubs, with Liverpool believed to be the early runners for Germany ‘s international signing. Yet Chelsea was stumping up £47.5million (€53 m) to retain his services, announcing the contract this week.

The waiting champions of Klopp resumed their pre-match news conference campaign at Everton on Sunday, and the manager of Liverpool was unwilling to discuss the new addition at Stamford Bridge.

The manager of Liverpool is unwilling to discuss the new addition

Klopp said, “We just aren’t evaluating for new players coming in, usually the first two, three or four months. I know the public does, and that means we always have to explain why this or that is not the way it is. For whatever reason, the more time you receive the benefits. We had four weeks that is, by the way, the longest pre-season I have ever had along with either part of Liverpool. That’s a big change, we ‘re normally all together for one week, it wasn’t even a week before Sadio [Mane] returned last year.”

Klopp added: “It improved that way, and Taki, 100%. At the moment, he seems very different from the first three weeks when he wanted to satisfy us and do everything we ask, and in a language, he is not 100 percent happy with that. He now had much more time to settle and he settled down.”
