Before the launch of LaLiga, Thibaut Courtois received an update on Eden Hazard, Real Madrid’s teammate. Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said Los Blancos needed Eden Hazard to fight its LaLiga title battle.

Due to injury and fitness problems, hazard has been limited to just 15 appearances for Madrid since arriving in a reported €100 million deal from Chelsea.

The 29-year-old attacker broke his ankle before the LaLiga campaign was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic but he used the near-three-month hiatus as an opportunity to fully recover ahead of the return of the league.

Madrid – two points behind Barcelona’s leaders with 11 matches left – will resume its season against Eibar on June 14, and Courtois will be updating Teammate Hazard on that.

“Hazard is good. It’s amazing the pace he ‘s got, but we need to go bit by bit. Without playing, we can’t expect him to be in top form. I think he’s in shape and we’ll need him to fight for the crown,” Belgian star Courtois told Movistar.

Madrid had won only one of its last four games at LaLiga before the league’s postponement due to the COVID-19 crisis in March.

In March Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane beat bitter rivals Barca 2-0 but lost to Real Betis and Levante as they drew home to Celta Vigo.

“We can’t wait for the league to start the fight again to win it,” said Courtois as Madrid prepared to play behind closed doors.

Not only will Madrid take to the field without supporters but the Spanish giants will play away from Santiago Bernabeu due to construction work on the famous venue.

Madrid is expected to play its remaining LaLiga games on the Valdebebas training ground at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium-the club.
