The results of Chelsea’s 0-0 EPL draw with Manchester United have been outlined by head coach Thomas Tuchel.
On the game
“It was a high-quality match between two dominant teams. We had a tough time in the first period, but the game was tight throughout. Chelsea looked especially good in the second half, in my opinion.
I thought we were getting closer to a victory, but the rivalry was fierce. In terms of the game, I’m pleased. In terms of attack and space, we were not good enough in the first half. We told [the players] not to be bothered at halftime. We were on the verge of victory.
We accept the outcome. I am fully pleased with my purchase. You don’t get many opportunities against a team like MJ.”
On the Hudson-Odoi and Greenwood episode, viewed through VAR
“What is the intention of the VAR’s involvement in this case? We’re checking for a penalty because the player in red played his hand? What makes you think the referee is looking at that?
I got a glimpse of the incident on my iPad, and I’m glad it wasn’t a penalty. It could’ve been a lot worse.”
