For next season, Thomas Tuchel will remain as Paris Saint-Germain, says sporting director Leonardo, who at Parc Des Princes has also denied finding possible replacements for the German.

In the summer of 2018, Tuchel moved to Paris, initially signing a two-year deal to succeed the Arsenal-bound Unai Emery. The former Borussia Dortmund boss signed a one-year extension through the summer of 2021, after guiding PSG to the Ligue 1 title in his first season in charge.

When the new Ligue 1 campaign was suspended due to coronavirus in March, the club was 12 points clear at the top of the table, with the authorities later deciding to curtail the season and crown PSG champions once again.

Despite this domestic success, there were rumors that PSG was looking for possible replacements, reportedly under consideration with former AC Milan and Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri.

Thomas Tuchel will remain as Paris Saint-Germain for next season

Leonardo, who has still not ruled out the possibility of Tuchel signing a new contract to further prolong his stay in the French capital, has put these speculation to rest.

“He ‘s got one year left on his contract and next season he’ll be on the bench,” Leonardo told JDD. “He ‘s done well, the results are good. An extension? We’ve got time to think about it.”

Leonardo has been emphatic in his response when asked about club reports scouring the market for potential replacements.

Leonardo also spoke of his frustration at teenagers Tanguy Kouassi and Adil Aouchiche ‘s potential departures, admitting that trying to persuade young players to stay in the club is a challenge if they can’t be guaranteed regular playtime.

Goal understands that, when his contract expires this summer, 18-year-old Kouassi will leave the club with Barcelona, AC Milan, RB Leipzig and Rennes amongst the clubs to be linked to the starlet.

Already out of contract this summer, 17-year-old Aouchiche is thought to have had talks with Saint-Etienne, although Arsenal has also been linked.
