The race to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is currently led by Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund. This season, since returning from a successful spell on loan at Sheffield United, the England international has struggled to take the number one jersey away from David de Gea.
Sky Sports News notes that as they see the 23-year-old as a possible replacement for club captain Hugo Lloris, who is entering the final year of his deal this summer, Spurs are tracking Henderson’s situation. They also claim that Dortmund holds an eye on the United stopper, which is considered to be open to the possibility of playing overseas.
Henderson recently signed a five-year deal in August, receiving about £ 120,000 a week, which, when negotiating with Spurs, could prove to be a sticking point.
As things stand, Henderson, a boyhood United fan, would prefer to stay at Old Trafford and battle for his spot, but he will look elsewhere if his chances of becoming number one are small.
In all competitions so far this campaign, Henderson has appeared just 12 times for United, 16 times less than De Gea.
