A transfer to the Premier League was connected with Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara and it seems like the likes of Leicester City and West Ham United may be keen on the player. In the summer, the physically intimidating midfielder was strongly associated with Arsenal and Leicester City, but he ultimately decided to remain at the Italian club. Latest reports (via The Sun) say that next month, Roma is now ready to cash in on the midfielder and he will be available for a fee of just £ 15 million. This season, Diawara was not a key player for Roma and he only made two appearances in the Italian League.
The midfielder arrived last summer from Napoli with a great reputation, but he struggled to establish himself at Roma as a key first-team player.
Roma is trying to cut their losses on him, and it will be fascinating to see if Leicester City and West Ham United are prepared in January to pay the midfielder’s asking price. West Ham would only switch for Diawara if they lose Declan Rice. A step away from the Hammers was linked to the England international and it remains to be seen if the Londoners will hold on to him until the end of this season.
It is suspected that the Roma midfielder is also keen on moving away from the Italian club and a move to the Premier League may prove to be the perfect next step in his career. In their midfield, the likes of Leicester City and Arsenal could use a bit of physicality and defensive cover and Diawara would be a clever addition for the right price.
The 23-year-old is still very young, and his height has yet to be achieved. With regular first-team football in the Premier League, both Leicester City and Arsenal will help him realize the ability.
