Diego Costa has agreed to join Benfica as a free agent, according to Mundo Deportivo. Costa left Atletico Madrid in December to return to his native Brazil.
Costa, 32, has been a free agent after deciding to leave former club Atletico Madrid for personal reasons earlier this year.
The notorious but extremely versatile marksman has a 15-year career that has seen him play for several top clubs.
The commanding Brazilian has 181 goals and 71 assists in 474 senior international matches across all competitions.
Costa is best known for his four-year spell with Premier League side Chelsea, during which he won three major trophies, including two Premier League titles.
