Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly optimistic of closing a deal before the transfer deadline of Monday to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.
The 24-year-old, who has fallen out of favor under current manager Jose Mourinho this season, is determined to land former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham will not allow Alli to leave permanently, the Daily Mirror reports, although a loan deal remains a possibility, especially if Mourinho’s side can first find a replacement.
Spurs are known to have declined three offers for the midfielder last summer from the French champions, but an agreement to be agreed before 11 pm on February 1 seems more probable.
In the second half of the season, Alli, who has three years left on his current deal, is determined to play more regularly and aims to break back into Gareth Southgate’s England squad before Euro 2020 next summer.
In the Premier League this season, the former MK Dons player played only 74 minutes and was omitted from Tottenham’s matchday squad in 11 of their 18 top-flight games.
