The results of the 1-1 victory over West Bromwich in round 24 of the EPL were summed up by Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“We knew it was going to happen from the beginning, we knew they were going to put pressure on us, they were going to throw us in the penalty zone,” Solskjaer told the BBC.
“A good cross was made, and the guy did a great job of closing it down. As a result of pressure, we also scored our own goal, but sometimes none of our players went to the flanks to exert pressure. We need to play better and we now have a difficult start to the game. We had 90 minutes to rectify the problem, but until the end of the first half, we could not find the correct pace.
I said that in the sense of the title race, we should not be spoken about – such a talk was a compliment. But we’re not going to let City pull away — we’re going to have a match against them soon. We’re not going to give away the title too early. Not at all.”
