Zinedine Zidane talked to the media following Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory at Granada. Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has insisted that the LaLiga trophy is not yet won despite another giant move toward the league leadership title. Madrid is one victory away from duplicating Barcelona’s two-time defending champions following Monday’s 2-1 win at Granada.

Ferland Mendy’s first goal for Madrid and Karim Benzema’s strike restored Los Blancos’ four-point lead over the former Barca rivals, with two matches left. Madrid will win only a second league title in eight seasons at home in Villarreal on Thursday but Zidane avoided championship talk after match.

Zidane told reporters afterward (via Marca): “The first half we had was really good, spectacular with the ball. The second half wasn’t that good but it was because our opponents were playing. You have to sacrifice a little bit to get to wherever in LaLiga and we came through it was a band. We have to be proud of the team. Two games are remaining have not yet won anything. That’s the reality but six points remain. We wanted to win LaLiga when we started the season but it hasn’t just arrived yet.”
