ZINEDINE ZIDANE is on track to become the most effective boss ever at Real Madrid.

The French boss on Thursday night led Los Blancos to their first crown at LaLiga since 2016-17.

Madrid defeated Villarreal 2-1 to put themselves out of reach of Barcelona thanks to a Karim Benzema double. It was also the 34th title of the club’s LaLiga, a record haul. With the victory, Zidane is now in charge of winning 11 trophies in just 209 matches. That is the equivalent of one piece of silverware per 19 minutes-or half a season at home.

Zidane has now won LaLiga twice, as well as the Champions League three times in a row between 2016 and 2018, in 2016-17 and 2019-20.

The manager of Bernabeu has already won two crowns of the Supercopa de Espana (2017 and 2020) and two Uefa Super Cups (2016 and 2017).

Zidane also led Real Madrid to two World Cups for clubs elsewhere (2016 and 2017). His stunning games-per-trophy record is unparalleled. The most successful manager of Real Madrid, Miguel Munoz has won 14 trophies in 605 games. That is a trophy every 43 games, DOUBLE over Zidane’s.

Since the season restart, Real has won ten straight games to overtake Barcelona and win the title.

The victory among the players sparked raucous celebrations. But all eyes were on Gareth Bale’s wantaway who continued his bizarre behavior.

Bale, who turned 31 on the day of Real ‘s triumph, barely celebrated the win, seen standing with his crosses of arms as the team threw Zidane into the air.
