Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been appointed to Sweden’s 2022 World Cup qualifying team, reversing his decision to retire from international football.

Following Sweden’s elimination from Euro 2016, the 39-year-old announced his retirement, despite his tumultuous relationship with current Sweden coach Janne Andersson, which suggests he will never return.

Ibrahimovic has been appointed to Sweden’s World Cup qualifying squad for March, following months of speculation.

With his normal modesty, the seasoned forward took to Twitter to confirm the news, writing: “The return of the God.”
