Antonio Colak scored a brace to help Rangers produce one of the comfortable football scores of the weekend in the Scottish Premiership. After scoring twice, the 29-year-old Croatian striker’s season total increased to 11 goals since his summer transfer from Malmo. Prior to Rangers’ Champions League match against Liverpool on Tuesday, the Jambos’ dreams of a comeback were dashed when Cammy Devlin was sent off just before halftime. Substitute Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent then scored goals in the final 15 minutes to seal the victory for Rangers.

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson made one change to the starting lineup from the team that defeated Motherwell by a score of 3-0 the last time around by starting Stephen Humphrys in place of Andy Halliday. Rabbi Matondo and Ben Davies, who returned for his first appearance since mid-August, replaced youthful players Leon King and Charlie McCann in Rangers’ starting lineup from the team that defeated Dundee United a fortnight earlier.

After three minutes, the visitors got their first opportunity of the game when Davies had a close-range attempt from a James Tavernier corner deflected behind. Later, goalkeeper Craig Gordon deflected the same player’s header from another Tavernier corner. Colak’s goal off Gordon’s left post in the sixth minute gave Rangers the lead after Kent’s brilliant left-wing cross was met by Colak.

Humphrys threatened with a pair of hard strikes from outside the box as Hearts attempted to respond. When Lewis Neilson, who had the sun in his eyes, appeared to lose track of a ball over the top in the 20th minute, Scott Arfield had a great opportunity to extend the Rangers’ advantage. However, the Rangers midfielder rolled his effort wide from inside the box. But ten minutes later, Colak scored the second goal for the guests after Matondo slipped a beautifully weighted pass into his path. Colak finished beautifully past Gordon from the edge of the six-yard box.
