Chennaiyin FC has completed the signing of winger Vincy Barretto from Kerala Blasters FC on a multi-year deal ahead of the Indian Super League. He will join the two-time champions after a successful debut season with Kerala Blasters. He made 17 appearances and scored two goals including a screamer against Hyderabad FC.

“We are happy to bring in Vincy Barretto who will add youthful energy to our attack. At the age of 22, he is already known for his capabilities. This is a very positive signing for us leading into season 9,” Chennaiyin FC co-owner Vita Dani said after completing the signing of Vincy Barretto.

“I’m very excited to join Chennaiyin FC, a club that has already been successful in its little history. My only goal is to win more titles with the club,” Vincy Barretto said.

Meanwhile, Odisha FC announced that goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh will depart the club after spending three seasons there. He played 16 games for the club in 2020/21 but saw his appearances limited last season due to injuries. Despite his age, he has shown maturity making him one of the best young goalkeepers in the country.

“I’ve been at the club for three years. It’s been a great journey with Odisha FC. It’s been my family and it’s never a nice feeling to leave your family. But sometimes you have to do what is best for you and the club. Maybe someday, I will be back here again,” an emotional Arshdeep Singh said.
