Bengaluru FC new signing Prabir Das is thrilled to share the dressing room with Sunil Chhetri after joining Mohun Bagan. After playing for a number of clubs in Kolkata, Das is hopeful he can strengthen his game with Bengaluru FC. He revealed that it has been a childhood dream of his to play with Chhetri and is hopeful of playing for the national team one day.

“Oh yes! It’s a dream come true for me. It was my childhood dream to share the dressing room with Sunil Bhai. Performing in matches and training with a legend like him is every footballer’s wish. Fortunately, I am going to get that opportunity,” Prabir Das said about sharing the dressing room with Sunil Chhetri. “I have a lot to learn from him and Gurpreet Bhai. I never got the opportunity to sit with Sunil Bhai for a long time. I hope I will get the chance to have a chat with him, and he will share his experience with me, which is going to be my treasure. I want to know how he keeps himself fit and fine after playing at the highest level for more than 20 years. Can’t wait to see him and talk to him during BFC training.”

“I came to know about that [the move] before the second round of the AFC Cup. Generally, you tend to get emotional after being in your own city for a long time. I became emotionally attached to Bengali footballers in the last 5-6 years. Though it affected me, on the other hand, it was my professional obligation as well. Honestly, I was just coming back to a better shape with ATK Mohun Bagan,” he added. “I could have improved myself with this team and coach. But at this juncture, I have to join another set up, and that’s what happens in professional football.”
