Arsenal Women boss Jonas Eidevall believes that Kim Little can inspire his side in their second-leg quarter-final against Wolfsburg. The scoreline is 1-1 from the first leg with Little set to lead the side out at the Volkswagen Arena. She has 140 caps for the country, scoring 59 goals in the process. She made her debut in the Champions League for Hibernian in 2006/07.
“She is phenomenal. The standards she puts on herself every day, it’s phenomenal to see and training yesterday was no exception and I don’t think the game tomorrow will be an exception,” Jonas Eidevall said about Kim Little. “Kim Little is a legend, period. She’s a legend in the Champions League, she’s a legend at Arsenal, she’s a legend in the Women’s Super League and in the Scottish national team. She shows it week in, week out. She’s the best example that I have come across of a player who leads by example.”
“It’s very hard to reach the semi-finals in the most prestigious club tournament, but this is where we want to be, these are the games we want to play and prove ourselves in,” he added. “Of course, it’s nine years ago since the club was last there playing and I think it was Wolfsburg who they were playing. We know it’s going to be hard, but like I said before I 100 percent believe it’s possible for us.”
“I’m really excited about it. It’s going to be a big ask for Arsenal with Wolfsburg at home. It’s a really difficult place to go and get a result. Not many people have gone there and done that so they’re up against it,” Karen Carney said. “They’ve just got to be mindful on the transition because Wolfsburg is a massive threat but they are very much in this tie and they’ve got a nice, juicy semi-final [against Barcelona] to look forward to if they get through.”
