Man Utd: Anthony Martial denies Ralf Rangnick’s claim he refused to play

Man Utd forward Anthony Martial took to social media to deny manager Ralf Rangnick’s claim that he refused to play. Rangnick said the Frenchman did not want to be a part of the squad which forced them to name only eight substitutes including two goalkeepers for their Premier League meeting with Aston Villa. He has not played for more than a month but insists that he was available for selection. Martial wants to leave in search of regular football with Sevilla being his preferred destination.

“I will never refuse to play a match for Man United,” Man Utd forward Anthony Martial said on Instagram. “I’ve been here for seven years and I never disrespected and I never will disrespect the club and the fans.”

“As we all know there are always two sides to a story, one is saying one thing, one is saying another. No doubt we will get to the bottom of it, sooner rather than later.” Man Utd legend Andy Cole said. “There’s been a lot of problems [this season] with Manchester United behind the scenes and on the football pitch as well, and it is not working out well at the moment.”
