Atalanta was officially offered the opportunity to play their Champions League games against Ajax, Liverpool, and Midtjylland in Bergamo.
Since La Dea started climbing the ranks of Italian and European football a few years ago, due to stadium insufficiencies, their home games in the UEFA tournaments have been played elsewhere. They were either in Reggio-Emilia Mapei Stadium, used by Sassuolo, or last season in Milan’s Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.
Over the past year, the Certain Stadium has undergone drastic restructuring work and has now been granted a strong chance to host football in the Champions League.
Atalanta announced the first Group D arena match against Ajax on October 27, followed by Liverpool on November 3.
The final home fixture of the group is on December 1 with Midtjylland.
