Atletico Madrid defeated Sevilla 2:0 at their stadium in a delayed Spanish LaLiga match. It was already the thirteenth win in this season’s LaLiga for Diego Simeone’s charge. It began very well because Angel Correa received a precise pass from Kieran Trippier in the 17th minute and the outcome of the meeting opened with a shot from the first ball. It should have been 1:1 moments later, but Marcos Acuna just missed. Luis Suarez’s strike was spectacularly guarded by Bono in the 25th minute.

The score remained unchanged at the end of the first half, despite many attempts by both teams, and the Atletico players went down to the locker room with a small one-goal advantage.

Immediately following the change of sides, the visitors struck, but this time Jan Oblak was on hand when Youssef En Nesyri scored. The next objective came from Atletico, as the visitors tried to get the equalizer. Saul beat the Sevilla goalkeeper in the 76th minute and thus sealed Atletico’s victory.

While playing two games less than the runners-up, the Madrid team has now defeated their rivals for the 13th time and lead LaLiga with four points ahead of Real.
