Hannes Haldorssonm countered Danish defenseman Simon Kjaer’s header from the corner, but he bounced off Sigurjonsson and crawled across the line for a half-time stroke to get the Danes ahead.

In the first minute of the second half, playmaker Eriksen broke free of his half to make it 2-0, and Skov added a brilliant third to the hour mark with a curling shot.

The result put Denmark in the third position in Group 2 with four points, three points behind England’s champions, who came back from the target of winning Belgium 2-1 in second place in Wembley.

After three games, Iceland was the lowest in the group with no points, having scored just once and losing nine goals.
