A crucial three points for Crotone; Sassuolo saves a point in last minute

In the 18th round, the Italian football championship’s last-placed side, Crotone, convincingly defeated Benevento 4-1 (2-0) at home, and with those three points, they got closer to the other teams in the battle to stay.

Crotone took the lead at the very opening of the match with Glik’s own goal (4-ag), then Nwankwo (29, 54) solved the winner’s question with two goals, one in each half. Vulic (65) climbed to 4-0 before Benevento’s loss was mitigated by Iago Falque (82).

With 12 points, Crotone is still last, but now it’s just one point behind 18th Torino and 19th Parma, while 16th Cagliari and 17th Genoa have two more points.

In the regional derby, Parma was close to an important away win against Sassuolo, but the home team saved a point with a penalty kick goal in the last minute of overtime. Parma was led by Kucka (37), and in the final 1-1 Đuričić (90 + 4-11m) equalized. Thus, with 30 points, Sassuolo remained eighth, one less than sixth at Atalanta and seventh at Lazio.
