Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles has drawn attention to Brighton ahead of the summer transfer deadline, reports The Evening Standard.
Maitland-Niles has been looking for action this season, including starting Saturday’s semi-final victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup.
This has added to rumors that the 22-year-old, who is a part of the Hale End Academy at Arsenal, maybe open to joining the club this summer, and Brighton is believed to follow him ahead of a potential move.
The midfielder, who can also work at full-back, has just three years to run on his new Arsenal contract, and Mikel Arteta, head coach, has indicated that he plans to stay there.
Maitland-Niles is respected for his versatility-he played left wing-back against Manchester City on Saturday-and the fact that he counts as a home-grown member of the Arsenal squad is also advantageous.
