Alessandro Florenzi, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has been diagnosed with coronavirus, the French football team announced on Monday.
“Alessandro Florenzi has been tested positive after a COVID-19. As a result, he will be placed in isolation and subject to the appropriate health protocol,” the PSG said on Twitter.
This season, the 30-year-old played 29 games for the Paris club, scoring two goals.
Florenzi’s PSG teammate, midfielder Marco Verratti, tested positive for the disease last week.
Both players will miss PSG’s first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals against Bayern Munich in Germany on Wednesday.
