Andrea Pirlo celebrates his first trophy as a coach, beating Napoli to the Supercoppa, debating why Juan Cuadrado was in such good shape and shaking off Juventus criticism.
This is the first piece of silverware of his coaching career, even though he has earned it all as a player, beating former Napoli teammate Gennaro Gattuso 2-0.
“I feel great joy, it’s different to lift my first trophy as a coach, I think even better than as a player because I’m leading such a great squad and in a historic team. It’s fantastic,” Pirlo told RAI Sport.
“It’s unusual for two teams to play well in a final, and it’s crucial to win.
Then luck will go on your side when you play with this determination.
We wanted to prove that we’re not the team we’ve seen against Inter, so when you’re playing with that grit, determination, and attitude, you’re making your way to luck.”
