Ansu Fati, a Barcelona winger, has hit another roadblock in his recovery from a knee injury and could need a third surgery, effectively ending his season.
However, Catalunya Radio reports that the second operation did not fix the issue. The most recent operation proved to be more complicated than doctors had anticipated, and his knee has yet to recover, leaving him nowhere near ready to return to play.
Fati contracted a knee infection in March, which exacerbated matters and forced the teenager to delay a decision on a new procedure, which he has yet to make.
His return date was originally scheduled for March 10, but it was later pushed back to late April, raising genuine fears that Fati will not be seen until next season.
