Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens has disclosed his ‘childhood vision’ of playing in the German Bundesliga for Schalke 04.
The 25-year-old helped La Dea finish fourth in Series A and the Champions League quarter-finals this term, but the German said that one day he would love to go home.
“It is going to be a dream,” he told ZDF. “It is my dream to be playing in the Bundesliga.
“Maybe it’s not something that will happen right now but it’s a childhood dream of mine to do it with Schalke 04.”
In July 2012, Gosens moved to Holland, leaving Vfl Rhede and transferring to Vitesse Arnhem. In July 2017, the defender was brought to Bergamo for €900,000 after five years in Dutch football and spells at FC Dordrecht and Heracles Almelo.
President Antonio Percassi will now set a price tag for his wingback of about €30 m, but Schalke is not expected to have the money to take him away from Orobici on the pending transfer market.
