Barça HQ has ended its emergency conference to look at the near future of the club, reports Sport.
Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu met Quique Setien, and it was determined that the coach should take over Barça ‘s match against Alaves until any decision can be reached during the week-long post-season break.
Once LaLiga is over, the team will rest for six days before training resumes ahead of the Champions League match against Napoli.
During this time Setien and the club will concentrate on the campaign, the specifications of the squad, and how to prepare for European competition.
By the conclusion of this new campaign, Barça has no plans to sacking Setien and as such, the manager will stay in the dugout for the Napoli game. The only way things are getting better is if Setien decides to move away before the rivalry returns next month.
If Barça beats Napoli they have to travel to Lisbon to play in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
There they face the match-winner between Chelsea and Bayern, Setién felt hurt after the match against Osasuna for both the result and Messi ‘s comments after. He claimed his tenure in the dugout had been strong criticism.
