At a meeting on Thursday, the Board of Directors of Barcelona voted to hold elections on January 24, Marca said. At least, that is the club’s goal, with the coronavirus pandemic expected to cause problems with the operation.

Next week the members of the Club will meet with their representatives of the Generalitat to agree on the procedures to be developed during the pandemic for the elections. The initial aim was to disperse the ballots in different ways to avoid a mass assembly of voters.

The Barcelona Managing Board has been working with the Generalitat during the last 10 days to plan these elections. The scheduled date for these elections is January 24, and the process has to wait 40 days before it can start before official approval has been received.
