Bayern defeated Lyon and moved to the finals

Bayern defeated Lyon in the Champions League semifinals with goals from Sergei Gnabry in the 18th and 33rd minutes with goal scorer Lewandowski in the 88th minute and advanced to the finals where on Sunday they will play against PSG.

Lyon brilliantly opened the game, and had Memphis Depay and Toko Ekambi been a little more concentrated, Bayern would have had a much harder job. The French positioned themselves squarely in the backline and then transferred with risky passes to the Bayern half.

Depay had already breached Bayern’s defense in the 4th minute and bypassed Neuer, but had gone too far to the side and reached the net outside. Seven minutes later, Müller moved the defense from Lyon and beautifully employed Gorettzka but the Bayern midfielder missed the ball entirely.

Lyon got the biggest opportunity in the 17th minute in the first half. Toko Ekambi escaped the defense of Bayern, got rid of Alabe, and then hit the first post in a clean line from the top of the box. Bayern disciplined the misses in the next onslaught.

Gnabry had the ball to the right, going into the center as Robben did. The defense of Lyon just looked at him and Gnabry beat Lopez with a quick kick from the penalty area’s bottom.

The goal cut through the French who started making errors absolutely and Bayern played more and more confidently.

Perišić came in from the left with 33 minutes played and would have had the winning goal but the defenders successfully repelled Lewandowski’s attack. The Pole however missed the target and even the rebound incomprehensibly, and Gnabry jumped on the rejected shot and kicked it under the crossbar for 2:0 and the match’s solution.

Five minutes later Lewandowski was in another decent chance but Gnabry ‘s brilliant cross was a little late.

The speed fell absolutely in the continuation, and Bayern maintained their advantage without any significant issues. Perišić broke out alone in the 51st minute before Lopez but fired straight at the goalkeeper from Lyon.

Aouar took advantage of Boateng’s mistake in the 58th minute and brilliantly found Toko Ekambi on the second post but Neuer fantastically defended his shot.

Robert Lewandowski had set the final 3-0 two minutes before the end. Kimmich scored from a free-kick, and the Pole went into the corner to support Bayern’s final entry.
