Bor. Dortmund 2 – 0 Hertha: Borussia Dortmund moves back to the fifth position in the Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund won 2-0 at Hertha Berlin on Saturday, moving back into the fifth position in the Bundesliga with their third win in the last four games.

In the 54th minute, Julian Brandt attempted a 25-yard shot, but Hertha goalkeeper Rune Jarstein completely misjudged the ball, which flew through his hands and into the net.

Youssoufa Moukoko, 16, then scored in stoppage time from a close angle for his third goal of the season.

Dortmund, who advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals, had the upper hand throughout and hit the woodwork three times: through captain Marco Reus in the first half, once through Mo Dahoud’s deflected cross on the hour, and once through Giovanni Reyna’s close-range effort in the 89th minute.

In the 81st minute, Reus was clumsily felled from behind by Vladimir Darida, who received a clear red card and the Dortmund captain was taken off injured a few minutes later.

The victory propelled Edin Terzic’s side back into Champions League contention, placing them in the fifth position on 42 points, one point behind fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt, who face RB Leipzig on Sunday.

Bayern leads the table with 58 points, five more than Leipzig in the second position.
