Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso says that Milan will purchase Paolo Maldini. ‘He should also do some good stuff for them.’
Gattuso and Maldini won two Champions Leagues together as players for Milan, reinvigorating their relationship in San Siro last season when Rino was a coach and the ex-defender came back in an executive capacity.
The 51-year-old is expected to leave with Ralf Rangnick set to come in by the end of the season but his former colleague feels he might still do a job for the Rossoneri (via Football Italia).
“The Maldini family has written important pages in the history of Milan,” he said after a 2-2 draw between his past and present clubs yesterday.
“There can be no debate about him as a man, but as a director, I believe he can still do really good things for Milan.”
The former Italian midfielder now wants to make his mark at Napoli, contributing to the success in Coppa Italia last month.
“I want to stay as long as possible in Naples, and write valuable pages for this beautiful city and community.”
