Everton is talking to James Rodriguez about an agreement, says talksSPORT.
Boss Zinedine Zidane does not want the Real Madrid playmaker, 29, and the Spanish giants are keen to ship him out this summer.
Last season, Rodriguez made only eight appearances at LaLiga, having spent the two previous campaigns at Bayern Munich on loan.
Everton has now offered him a Bernabeu escape route, with talks underway on a potential deal.
Next season, Rodriguez is out of contract and the Toffees are trying to sign him permanently, though a loan arrangement is also a possibility.
The player is also being pursued by Galatasaray, though Carlo Ancelotti hopes his relationship with Rodriguez will help swing him to Everton.
Ancelotti was in charge of Real when, in July 2014, they paid £ 63million to sign Rodriguez from Porto in what was the world’s fourth most expensive transfer then.
