Chelsea is in contract negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz but the Blues, Goal says, are yet to decide on a deal with the Bundesliga side.
The goal has heard that Chelsea is keen to discuss a lower offer of about €76 million, although it is uncertain when negotiations come to an end.
The Blues are in a perfect position to hire Havertz and there are currently no other teams in talks to sign the player who is willing to transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea needs just one victory for next season to secure Champions League football from their final two league games, it’s known that Havertz will still be joining the Blues even if they don’t cement a place in Europe’s biggest club competition.
Having scored 17 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions in 2019-20, Frank Lampard officially referred to him as a “top player,” the talented forward has emerged as Germany ‘s outstanding young talent.
Chelsea initially faced pressure to sign Havertz but this summer, with the financial implications of the coronavirus crisis taking root, is expected to be a much more cautious transfer market.
