On Tuesday, Cristiano Ronaldo proceeded to lift the bar by leading Juventus to a 3-0 victory over Spezia.

Juve ran rampant as they looked to keep pace in the Serie A title battle, with Alvaro Morata and Federico Chiesa joining him on the scoresheet.

With his 83rd-minute goal, Ronaldo cemented his place as one of the game’s all-time great goal scorers.

With his goal on Tuesday, Ronaldo became the first player in the top-five European leagues to score at least 20 goals in each of the previous 12 seasons.

After scoring just 18 goals in his previous season with Manchester United, he started the run in 2009-10, his first season with Real Madrid.

During his nine seasons in Madrid, the Portuguese striker scored at least 25 goals on three occasions, reaching the 40-goal mark three times.

Ronaldo has hardly slowed down since joining Juventus, scoring 52 goals in his first two seasons in Serie A.

With his goal against Spezia, he surpassed the 20-goal mark, with seven more goals in other competitions so far this season.

Juventus’ victory leaves them in the third position in Serie A, behind only the two Milan giants.

Inter currently leads the league with 56 points, four points ahead of AC Milan in second.

Meanwhile, Juventus will have a difficult time defending their crown, as they are currently in the third position with 49 points, three points behind Atalanta.
